Google Sandbox Theory

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

This is a controversal issue about Google sandbox. As a SEO specialist (I work for SEO company in Michigan) I have my own opinion, and would like to hear other opinions. Let’s say that you have a well done optimized website with certain big keywords. Your webiste earn certain links and finally got ranked within top ten. The website stayed a month, but then, Google put your website down like 800. Two months later, Gooogle put your website back to the first page again, and then, three weeks later, Google ranked you back down to 800. How would you explain this? Google sandbox theory is that Google indexes new sites within days, but does not assign new sites with ranking points until many months after they’ve gone live. This, presumably, is to deter spammers and others from gaining quick and easy search engine referrals. The period of Google sandbox for new sites is anywhere between 6 to 8 months. Now, there is another Google sandbox theory. If your website doesn’t attract vistors measuring by how many pages vistors veiws or how long they stay, Google ranks you down if the keyword is very competitive, but since your on-page optimization is perfect, Google gives you chances again. This is my assumption. What do you think? .
