Phone number is one of the ways the Google Maps algorithm determines how to map your business in Google Maps. There are many multiple businesses at the same address (different suite #s) with different phone numbers and Google keeps them distinct, so this should be one of the important factors. In addition, Google seems to not value a cell phone number as it used to.
