Should you or should you not use sub domains for you new site?
There has been a lot of debate about a Sub Domain versus a Sub Folder versus setting up a new domain.
A sub domain would be: new-topic.yourdomain.com
A sub directory would be: yourdomain.com/new-topic
A whole new domain would be: newdomain.com
Our opinion from a SEO (search engine optimization) point of view is that you should choose sub-folders if you want to leverage your ranking, but if you want to really target keywords, you should go with New Domain.
